I’ve had an online account with Betfred for at least 10 years and there’s no doubt in my mind their a reputable company that will pay out on winning bets.
They do have a few issues though, when compared to the bigger name bookies, and I plan to highlight them further below but they revolve mainly around design and a need for modernisation (although their app / mobile site does this well).

The Betstream interface they use makes it easy to place bets instantly and they’ve recently massively upped their game when it comes to in match stats, graphics and scores – which was much needed. The odds are updated on an regular basis throughout any match and prices are competitive.
Their in-play offering is a definitely second best when you compare the live options offered by the likes of Bet365 who allow their punters to see full match information, live odds and in most cases a stream of the event taking place.
Betfred need to get this sorted if they are going to compete with the big boys in the industry and for this reason alone we don’t believe they belong in the high star rating categories.
Live streaming is available but only for horses and greyhounds with punters who want to watch needing to bet a a minimum of £1 on the race in question.

Overall Review
In our reviews section we’ve given Betfred 4 out of 5 stars which is the third highest grade we dish out to any online bookmaker.
They are licensed with a good reputation among online punters and always pay out on winning bets.
when it comes to long standing promotions they have plenty available to football, horse racing and greyhound racing fans. When compared to all other bookmakers we’ve reviewed Betfred come out top of the pile on promotions and it’s a mjor plus point for them.
Plus their welcome offer is also one of the best around.
There are a couple problems with Betfred thought and until they do something to resolve them we just can’t rank them any higher.
Firstly their live betting offering just isn’t up to standard. There’s not enough live streaming and even though stats and graphics are better than before they still don’t compare to the big boys.
Second up, whilst many sports are available to bet, the option of bets available per event is no where near as good as some of the other players in the industry. Often Betfred will have around 50 markets for popular events when others are offering 100+.
The bottom line is that until the above issues are fixed they won’t make it into a highest categories. However the sheer number of promotions they run, and their quality sign up offer which has virtually no wagering requirements, means we highly recommend you open an account.

Have just started using Betfred and am really pleased with what I’ve found so far. I opened a new account with them to coincide with the new Premier League season starting, so that I could get their bet £10 and get £30 offer. Found it really easy to deposit and put my £10 bet on Man United to score two or more in the Friday Night Football against Leicester at 2.07.
Obviously United did get two, which made my bet a winner and meant I got £20.07 winnings as well as my £30 in free bets, which was credited really quickly.
I took the winnings out of my account again straight away without any problems and am now looking forward to using my £30 of free bets on some other matches. Fingers crossed my other bets are as profitable as the first one.

The Betfred adverts with that Fred Done chap do my nut in but as it turns out they’re the best bookie I’ve got for the football. Double Delight & Hat Trick promo is well worth a look for a bit extra value if you like a bet on first goalscorers.
I’ve got the app but also use the website (which I reckon is a bit dated when compared to someone like Bet365) and both are easy to use. Never had a problem getting money on or off the site either.
Worth a go I reckon.

Agree with the lad above, class name btw, who says Betffred are worth a go. Noticed they’ve done a redesign and whilst I’m not usually one for change the site works way better since. Pick Your Punt is a good feature but stay away from the casino side of things – rigged imo.

Have to be honest and said I was a bit wary of joining Betfred because Fred Done gets on my wick, but have been pleasantly surprised with the site. The app is great and certainly one of the best you can use on a mobile device. Not a fan of the poker site to be honest, way too glitchy, but if you stay with the sports betting service it is excellent. Lots of good promotions to enjoy too.
